BASCI is an association dedicated to the belief that all Americans should have the right to fulfill their dream of home ownership. Our members work hard to promote the following ideas to help meet this goal. Our industry promotes well-designed, well-constructed and appropriately located homes in attractive communities, with easy access to educational, religious, recreational, and shopping facilities. The promotion of continuous improvement in financing will allow every purchaser to receive the greatest value for his or her investment.
Our primary responsibility is to our customer and our community. Our members shall deal fairly and honestly with customers, employee’s fellow sub-contractors and suppliers. As members of a progressive industry we promote high standards for health, safety, and sanitation. We encourage our membership to research and develop new and better materials, building techniques and equipment. We also provide ongoing monitoring of legislative proposals affecting our industry and the people we serve.
BASCI Leadership
Jason Bell
Executive Director

Jason owns and operates Bell’s Vacuum and Appliance in Bloomington and Bedford.
Jason became active with the Building Association in 2006 when they had their first booth at the Home Show. Every year since then he as increased the size of his booth, was elected to the Board of Directors, Served as President of BASCI and is now the Executive Director of our association. He also served as the Associate Chair for the Indiana Builders Association.
Jason’s company has been awarded Associate of Year for 2013, 2015, and 2017 by his fellow members.
Jason and his wife Carrie have 2 boys, Cohen and Bennett.
Kevin Powell
President

Kevin graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University and is the managing partner at Rubicon Custom Homes. He has been recognized as a top builder by Builder Magazine and his company was the 2014 Builder Member of the Year. Kevin is married to Ally Powell, who is also a talented interior designer.
Kevin is a supporter of the Habitat for Humanity and has participated as a principle builder in past years.
Terry Davis
Vice President

Terry Davis started in 1977 with Wickes Lumber Co. (what is now a ProBuildlegacy Company). In 1980 he became a Contractor Sales Rep. In 2015, Terry began working at Bender Lumber Company and continues in his position there today.
Terry has been active with the Association since 1980 and has served on the BASCI Board of Directors off and on for several 2 year terms, as well as various committees over the years.
He’s been married to his High School Sweetheart Terri for 37 years. They have 2 sons and 6 grandchildren. Terry enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family & friends.
David Killion
Treasurer/Secretary, Golf Scramble Chair

David Killion is a Bloomington native and a third generation home builder. David attended Bloomington High School North and Rend Lake College. He was a student-athlete and studied Construction Technology at IUPUI. He has several building-related credentials and designations including state licensed home inspector, certified building analyst, certified green professional, and certified aging in place specialist. David is currently pursuing a real estate license and a certified graduate builder designation. He has been building, drafting, designing, and managing the construction of residential homes since 2003.
Amy Chitwood
Board of Directors, Parade of Homes Chair

Amy is a Fleet and Commercial sales representative from Curry Auto. She has served on the BASCI board as since 2014.
Amy is married with two children, Evelyn and Nathan. Amy’s husband is Ross Chitwood, owner of Blue Line Build and Design, is also a member of BASCI. She enjoys giving back to her community and has served as a painter for Habitat for Humanity.
Amy has been the Parade of Homes Chair and on the Home Show Committee since 2016.
Jim Doering
Board of Directors

Jim is the owner of Forthphaze Technology Inc. An Information Technology and Security System Company. Jim is currently the membership chair for BASCI.
He has been married to Marti Doering for 34 years and the have 3 boys and 4 grandchildren.
Jim is the Senior Area Director for BNI South Central Indiana , on membership committee for Downtown Bloomington Inc and a board member for Hearthstone and Stonecroft Heath Care Campuses in Bloomington.,
Jim believes in the givers gain mentality.
David Jenner II
Board of Directors

David is President and Co-Founder of Authentic Homes, Inc. Starting his building career in 1997 as a Framing Crew Member, while attending Vincennes University, where he obtained an Associate in Science and a Certificate in Welding Technologies. He is certified in Mold Inspections and Mold remediation.
He is now a Developer and Custom Home Builder helping his Clients ideas come to life, building their dream home.
Authentic Homes, Inc has participated in the Parade of Homes and The Home show the last 3 years with obtaining awards for The Realtor’s Choice (2 years) and the Judge’s Choice last year.
He enjoys taking his wife and six year old daughter Fishing and Camping and spending time with family and friends. David is a license, ordained Minister since 2004 now.
Don Weiler
Board of Directors, Past President

Don is co-founder of Bailey & Weiler Design/Build, the local custom home design and construction company he formed with Craig Bailey in 2005. They also operate Red Dog Maintenance, which specializes in residential and commercial maintenance. Don earned degrees in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and Business from Indiana University.
Don and his wife Lisa have 4 children. Don spends free time with family, following IU and high school sports, fishing and golfing. In addition to BASCI, Don volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, Boys & Girls Club and Riley Children’s Foundation.
Ryan Langley
Board of Directors

Ryan is a Bloomington local and graduated from Bloomington High School South. He has extensive experience in banking and home mortgages. Before becoming branch manager for Ruoff Home Mortgages, Ryan was a mortgage loan originator at German American Bancorp.
Ryan is a supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bloomington and Habitat for Humanity.
Tim Roberts
Board of Directors

Tim Roberts owns and operates Craft Construction, which he founded in 2012. His company specializes in custom homes and remodels. He’s been a member of BASCI since 2013. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity.
Tim has been married to his wife, Ryann since 2005. They have 2 children, Abby & Sam. Tim loves boating on Lake Lemon and has been playing drums since he was 12 years old.
Loren Wood
Board of Directors

Loren is the owner of Loren Wood Builders, a residential construction company. Loren moved to Bloomington to attend Indiana University in 1997. After graduating, he taught high school math in the Monroe County Public Schools (Aurora Alternative and New Tech high schools) for 10 years. He and his family live on the outskirts of Monroe County in a custom home by Loren Wood Builders. Together with his wife and two young kids, Loren spends his time hiking, biking and climbing.
